Will our DJ act as an Emcee during our event?
Yes your Dreamstate Audio DJ will act as an Emcee during your event for the Euphoric & Cloud Nine wedding packages and Haze, Reverie, and Dreamstate Event packages. This is one of the services we deliver that is imperative to the success of your affair. Your DJ will make all announcements and ensure that the event keeps on track according to your schedule.

What types of equipment do you use?
Dreamstate Audio uses premiere professional JBL sound equipment and club-grade lighting, lasers, and fog machine. Our music library is digital and we have a large selection of the top hits. The DJ sound systems are self supported and do not require a table. The DJ system and lighting is agile and available to decorate to your event theme. We deliver club style lighting that can also include a laser light show and fog machine. We also supply wireless microphones in all of our packages.
Do you provide music and equipment for wedding ceremonies?
Yes we can provide music for your Wedding Ceremony. A ceremony sound system is included in our Cloud Nine wedding package. Dreamstate Audio can play all your wedding music as well as provide wireless microphones to be used by you and your officiant so you guests do not miss a single moment. This would be the primary sound system, and we would set-up a second sound system for your wedding reception; which allows us to transition seamlessly from the ceremony to the reception.
How long will our DJ play music?
The amount of time your DJ will play is dependent on the package you select. Typically music entertainment lasts about four hours. You can decide in advance how long you want your DJ to perform and the price will reflect the time frame. If you are having fun and want the DJ to play longer you can purchase additional time the day of the event.
Is it customary to tip the DJ?
Gratuities given to your DJ entertainer are made at the client’s sole discretion. 10 percent to 20 percent of the total fee is customary for an excellent performance.
How early will our DJ arrive to set up?
Your DJ will arrive one hour prior to the scheduled start time of your event unless other arrangements have been made. It typically takes about forty-five minutes to set up so this allows us to be set up before guests arrive.
What is your Wedding DJ coverage area?
We are located in the north Seattle area and will travel anywhere within the greater Seattle metro area. This includes Tacoma, Seattle, Snoqualmie, Marysville, Bainbridge, and all areas in between.

Can we pick what music to play?
Yes you can pick what music to play. Simply submit a list of ten to fifteen songs in advance that you would like to hear and we will play them. This is good because it not only gives us great songs to play but also an idea of your musical tastes. Dreamstate Audio also features an online request sheet you can send to your guests in advance to fill out. We print the requests and bring them with us and play them.
Will our DJ take guest requests?
Absolutely! We will work with you preceding your event to establish the specific styles and individual requests that you would like played. We’ll also advocate your guests to make requests (with your approval) to make sure we play the songs that you and your guests want to dance to.
How do you price your DJ services?
Every event we play is unique so we create packages to reflect the individual needs of each affair. Prices fluctuate based on a few important factors. The considerations that guide price are the dates, how long you want us to perform, and the equipment that you need. How do you handle overtime?
If you are having fun and want your event DJ to play longer we would love to continue our performance. You can purchase additional time by paying overtime at the beginning of the hour. All overtime is purchased on an hourly basis and the cost for overtime is outlined in your contract. Overtime must be paid via cash or check prior to the DJ continuing their performance.
Do you provide a written contract?
It is extremely important to have your booking confirmed in writing. Dreamstate Audio will provide you with a written contract outlining the terms of your service. We will sign the contract and send you a copy to retain for your records. It is important to have a contract to guarantee your DJ services. I would never suggest booking any DJ service without a written contract.
Will you be available to answer DJ questions prior to our Seattle Wedding or Event?
Yes. We will meet with you in advance in person to discuss the details of your wedding or event entertainment. In addition you will have our cell phone numbers and can call us at any time with any additional questions prior to your event date. You can call as many times as you like, we are always available.
What type of music do you play?
Our DJs will have an extensive selection of music consisting of Club Dance, Classic Rock, Country, Oldies, Big Band, Motown, R & B, Rap, Disco, Jazz, Techno, Dubstep, Trance, Pop, Top 40s, and Hip-Hop. We have everything from the 1940’s to today’s top 40, so there is something for all age groups. Dreamstate Audio will discuss with you in advance what types of music you want played during your Wedding and we will play only those types of music.
What types of music do you play during dinner and cocktail hour?
We have a wide selection of cocktail and dinner music in our music library. We can discuss in advance what types of music you want us to play during this time. We typically suggest something low key such as Jazz or Classical Music played at low volumes so your guests can socialize during this time. It is your event so just let us know what you want us to play and we will play it.
How does your DJ dress for a formal event?
You choose the DJ outfit in advance and your DJ will wear it. If it is a formal event, the typical response would be a black or white dress shirt, formal black vest, black pants and a tie. It is important for us to look professional during the event. If the event is less formal we dress accordingly.
Can you provide wireless microphones for the wedding ceremony, toasts etc?
Yes, we can provide wireless microphones to be used during the ceremony and reception. We also have a wired microphone for backup.
Do you have back ups for your equipment?
Dreamstate Audio has the the latest in professional DJ sound and lighting equipment. Our equipment is extremely reliable. Although, through experience we know it is imperative to plan in case equipment does go out. We do have a full backup plan for each piece of equipment should technical difficulties arise. This includes a digital backup of your playlists.
How do you handle overtime?
If you are having fun and decide at your event that you need us to stay longer and play music you are charged a rate per each extra hour. That rate will be defined on the contract. This payment must be paid upfront before the overtime will begin.
How do we book your DJ services?
Call us, or fill out our online contact request form so we can discuss your entertainment needs. We will choose an entertainment package based on your needs that includes pricing. Once you approve your package we will send you a online contract. We require a 40% deposit with a signed contract to hold the dates for you. Once the contract and the deposit are received, we will hold the dates. Dreamstate Audio book on a first come first serve basis. The first contract we receive for the date with a deposit check will get the date. The deposit must be returned with the signed contract. The balance is due at least 24 hours prior to the event date.
How do we pay for your services?
Dreamstate Audio currently accepts debit or credit card payment through our website or paypal. You can also go through our Gigmaster’s account for a 3rd party secure payment option as well.
How far in advance do we need to book your Seattle event DJ services?
Wedding DJs are typically are typically booked as much as a year ahead of time. I would try to book your DJ as early as possible. Event DJs are usually booked within 3 months of the event. Some last minute bookings may be available as much as a few weeks ahead of time. It all depends on the dates.
Do you charge for mileage or setup?
If you’re within 70 miles (roundtrip) of Seattle all travel and setup costs are inclusive to your package. All travel further than 70 miles (roundtrip) will cost .$50/mile.
